Question: Carb

kwcahart

How do you remove the "tamper" plug to get to the "H" screw??

Hi kwcahart Just thread a small self tapping screw into it like a TEK screw. You can drill a small starter hole if you like to as I know that plug is hard. Thread the screw into the plug and just PULL it out.

How do I replace shaft gear

Hello captainvin,

We tried to disassemble the C056000011 Gear Housing Assembly, and that part doesn't want to come apart. To save you some time and frustration. If want to get your Trimmer up and going order the Gear Housing Assembly. I don't think the factory wants you to tear it apart. If they did they would make it much easier.

Question: Fuel Vent Tube

it came out. I found it .having trouble getting it back in the grommet.need help.

Question: Fuel/vent Line

chiefatk

Does the vent hose (the one with the vent cap)
get attached to anything or is it designed to just suspend unattached at the fuel tank? Seems like it should be supported somehow.

Mine just flops around. My question is how do you remove the "tamper" plug to get to the H screw?

The vent hose is inserted into the fuel grommet into the top of the tank. All 3 of the fuel hoses are. It extends a very small distance into the tank, which is all that is needed for venting, even less than the fuel return line does. So, it actually is suspended and not attached, just inserted in the grommet. There is a cavity in the housing cover near the engine on the machine for the vent cap to rest in. It does not need to be flopping around.
A self tapping screw threaded into the plastic plug can be used to pull it out.

Question: Short Block

Would like instructions to install.....

Hello dotzken,

I cannot locate a manual with instructions that you need to install the short block on your engine. I would try the manufacture and ask them if they have one available. Here is a link to their site, link removed Support-Help. Have your model and serial number for them also.

Good luck,

Question: Cover Assembly, Fan Bearing

1090460

Does the bearing come with the Cover Assembly, Fan? Part #10150356630. This is the bearing the driveshaft connects to. I need the bearing assembly, not the cover. Do i need to order the cover to get the bearing?

Hello 1090460,

I had one our warehouse employees take a look at the 10150356630 Fan Cover Assembly. And the bearing is included with this part.

Hope this helps,

Question: Bad Return Check Valve

ShotOut

Anybody around here have any trouble with the retun line check valve failing on this thing? It pushes fuel out, but also sucks it back through the same return line; while the gas intake line has weak vacuum on it at best. Doggone crappy ethanol...so sick of it ruining carbs!

I just had this issue - I used a pin and SeaFoam to clean out the two small metal-lined holes but I think I may have broken the part (is there a diaphragm in those?)

Question: Echo GT200r

will idle & run - but only at full throttle with choke @ 1/2 :confused:
If I hold trigger at full and manipulate choke lever - it will go to WOT at about 1/3rd choke but not with choke in "run" position and just using trigger - any thoughts? THX

Either your fuel pump needs replacing (available in GND Kit-66) or the main mixure screw needs to be opened up 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. See above reply for how to do that.
trimmer starts and runs in the cold start position but dies when i give gas or move the lever to run position what do i do

Hi Lois,

It sounds like the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. I worked on a GT-200r trimmer with the same type of issues just the other day. There is a carburetor rebuild kit available for your trimmer. It is part #P005000950. The rebuild kit should have your trimmer running great again!

I hope this helps,

Question: Broken Primer Bulb

How to replace the primer Bulb on an Echo GT-200R?

Question: GT-200R Wont Idle

Kyle Halvorson

I can get it started by holding throttle wide open but cannot let off or it will die. I have replaced all fuel lines and the spark plug. I adjusted the idle but does not make a difference.

Kyle - I've had a couple of these trimmers and at some point the spark arrestor screen fouls, and the engine won't run properly. As I recall, happened to all after 2-3 seasons. Cheap to replace - $1-$2. You can check to see if that's the problem by removing it and see if it runs without it.

Question: Echo GT200R Carburetor

Jackofallmasterofnone

I took apart the carburetor on my echo 200r to clean it. After I put it back together it will not idle. I took it apart again and cleaned it again, but still the same problem. I cleaned plug, and muffler screen just hoping that may do something but still same problem. What did I do wrong?

Will it start - just not idle?
Did you make sure the small roller was in place inside the throat before you slid the throttle body back in place? Is the fuel pump diaphragm installed in the correct order with gasket going on "first" against carb body then diaphragm - If assembled on pump coverplate, pump diaphragm goes on - then gasket to the carb body.

Reply: Echo GT200R Carburetor

You may NOT have done anything wrong but consider installing a fresh Gasket and Diaphragm kit on the carb. The one for the Zama RB K75 is GND-66. Cleaning will NOT restore the lost performance of a rigid fuel pump diaphragm.
ShotOut
Reply: Echo GT200R Carburetor

For clarification..1. The fuel pump diaphragm goes UNDER the white primer base and sits ON the carb body.
2. The fuel METERING diaphragm goes on TOP of the gasket under the round cover. The gasket sits directly on the carb body first and elevates it at the correct height. This diaphragm opens the fuel needle valve and is NOT a pump. The fuel pump diaphragm actually has little flappers that actuate to draw fuel into the carb. Please don't confuse the two!
