For most power tools, you’ll want to search for an ID plate on the tool. For most hand-held tools, you’ll find this plate on the side of the tool, usually with some other information. It’s pretty hard to miss. On table-top tools, check the sides, back, and top for such a plate. Most companies clearly label the model number on their tools, but if you’re having trouble finding it, click on your tool brand to the right for a detailed description of model numbers for that brand.
