    Easy Repair
Parts received very quickly and I was able to fix the gas leak on my trimmer for pennies on the dollar without having to send it to a shop and pay $$$$ or replace the machine.

Simple to order and exactly the right parts
Could not have been any easier. After being quoted $150 to fix my gas trimmer I was able to order the parts for less than $10 and fixed it within 15 minutes by myself. Would not have been possible had they not had those parts readily available.

Fuel filter tube broken off in fuel tank , dirty air and fuel filters, cracked primer bulb

    Martha - April 18, 2016

Replace primer bulb by removing metal plate screws and replacing old bulb. Remove and replace old air filter in same manner. Remove grommet containing fuel lines from opening in fuel tank. Attach new fuel filter to new fuel line and push through opening in new grommet from underside. Install new grommet in tank opening and then push remaining tubes in proper holes. It is important to wait to install the remaining tubes after the new grommet is in place in order to have enough flexibility to squeeze the grommet to fit the opening in the tank.

Simply pulled gas lines out of old grommet and ran them back through new one. Grommet had to be placed in gas tank entrance hole. I also changed the spark plug.

Removed fuel tank/removed old gourmet & fuel lines from tank /pulled fuel lines & etc loose from carburetor. Thread new lines through gourmet/installed new gas filter before installing gourmet & other lines into fuel tank. Used lite coat of oil on lines to get them through gourmet easier. The gas filter will fit through hole the gourmet comes out of. When finished there was no more gas leaks & Echo weed eater runs like a new one . I did install a new spark plug which I already had,gap is .026.

Needed a general tune up and fuel was leaking from old lines and a small crack on top of tank

    Clint - March 27, 2018
👍 2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful
Contacted small engine repair person that I normally use and got price on what repairs would cost. Then decided to do it myself. Found most of what I needed on the eReplacementParts.com website. A short phone call cleared up a couple of issues that I wasn't sure on. Parts (including a fuel tank that was ordered separately) arrived in about 3-4 days. All parts were genuine Echo OEM parts, which was important to me.

Used cordless drill with torx attachment, a screwdriver and needle nose pliers to remove fuel tank, old primer bulb and fuel lines pulled off easily with fingers. While everything was apart, used Chemtool spray carb cleaner to good old red shop rag to clean up seven years worth of grime.

Reassembly with new parts was easy and quick. The only thing I would recommend if you think you might not remember.....take a pic of how the fuel pipe, fuel tank vent and vent tube are setup....just so you know you've got the right one in the right place. Very easy though.

My seven year old Echo looks almost new and runs like a top with the tune up and replacement parts. Will for sure order from these guys again.

My problem was fuel leakage during usage of our Echo blower. The leak was centered around the fuel tank grommet that a pair of lines ran through. It had softened and was no longer sealing around the opening in the tank. I decided to replace the grommet and any line, connector, and filter in the area. A fairly easy fix once the tank was removed. The most difficult aspect was installing the fuel line on the back side of the carburetor. Once that was accomplished and the grommet was squeezed back into the tank, it was just a matter of reassembly. Parts fit perfect. Thanks!

    Would not start

    David - October 31, 2018
Took carburetor apart, cleaned, assembled new parts and started right up//// had considered buying a new weed eater but realized how easy it was to rebuild the old one and saved a lot of money. Also you can you tube it to see exactly how to repair it and what to look for. I have ordered from replacement parts and always got my order quickly and correct. Thanks, David

Removed tank as it's easier to replace the fuel lines through the grommet and seat the grommet in the tank with the tank off.

Flex shaft broke and (separately) gas tank was leaking (worn out grommet).

    Steve - August 28, 2018
    Tool Type

    Trimmer

    Difficulty

    Hard

    Time

    1-2 hours

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, Allen wrenches, spudger (for grommet)

    1. Removed power head from shaft.
    2. Removed string attachment from shaft.
    3. Removed old shaft (came out in pieces as it was broken).
    4. Installed new shaft.
    5. Reinstalled string attachment and power head.
    6. Grommet & filter: drained gas and replaced grommet and filter. Grommet was tight in tank, used spudger tool to help install that. Needed to cut tube to fuel filter to get it through the grommet (only cut a very small piece off the end).
Not too bad. Local mower repair shop wouldn't fix trimmer as it didn't pay them anymore to do it so it was fix myself or toss and replace. Glad I was able to fix this myself!
