crankshaft bearing were shot on my 1995 echo weed trimmer. had to tear the whole engine apart to get to the bearings and i also replaced the piston ring and all the gaskets while i was doing it. now it fires right up and doesn't stall out because I have eliminated the heavy vibration from the wore out bearings.
YouTube had a great video on replacing the crankshaft bearings on the trimmer

I recently completed a small engine repair course. My trimmer wouldn't start but had good spark and compression. It'd start briefly using starter fluid but wouldn't star running. Using my new knowledge I took my non running Echo SRM-210 completely apart, separated the block and replaced all of the seals and gaskets on the trimmer. I also cleaned the unit completely and put new fuel lines and grommet and a new carb. Total time from start to finish was just about 2 hours. For less than $100 worth of parts I have a trimmer that runs as new, vs replacing it with a $200-250 new unit. I'm pretty handy but before the OPE course I wouldn't have even attempted this repair, now I have full confidence and cant wait for the next project.
