Hello 205746,

The length of the 753-05182 is 24-3/4 inches and the diameter 1/4 inch.

Question: Troy Bilt Weed Eater Fuel Tank

dancashman

Hi. Dumped out some old gas from my troy bilt model TB70ss weed eater, after starting it. It kept stalling out. Along with the gas came several small metal washers, interior hoses, and some other part. The machine sat with empty fuel tank all winter. Does the replacement fuel tank assembly have all the right parts in the right places, so I just need to pull out the old tank and install the new one? thanks very much.

Hello dancashman,

The fuel tank, part number 753-04307 includes the two fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel cap. It should be already to install when you get it.

Thanks, WJA. Got the new tank. The weed eater still has 2 good hoses attached, one to the bulb and one to the engine. Can I use these or do I remove them and connect the 2 hoses from the new tank? Thanks.

WJA, are you there? My weedeater actually has 3 hoses still attached to carb and priming bulb. Do I use these instead of 2 hoses attached to new fuel tank? I don't think the 2 new tank hoses will not reach the carburetor. Thanks.

Hi All,

I have a Troy-bilt TB70SS string-trimmer. The problem I am having is that quite often the attachment fails to spin up when I squeeze the trigger.

When I squeeze the trigger I hear the engine rev up and expect the various attachments to start working. Sometimes they do but more often than not they don't.

I've been able to replicate with multiple attachments so I don't think it has anything to do with the attachments themselves.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

check to make sure the power head is all the way on. If it is not sometimes the drive shaft is not engaged to the clutch drum. Also check that the connecting mechanism is also seated all the way on the tube.

Question: Troy Bilt TB70SS Gas Trimmer

mrclean53

I have had my trimmer 4 yrs. and it usually works good. But this year it starts up and dies immediately-will not idle. And if it starts and I accelerate it dies.I sprayed carb cleaner in it 2 times overnite and no help.I noticed the primer bulb doesn't fill with gas as i prime it like it used to.Is the primer bulb the culprit? Or could the idle need adjusting?Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob

I just had this problem and I replaced the primer bulb it had a hairline crack in it. One other way to tell is if the primer bulb fills half way before starting and then you have to refill it once it dies as it sucks all of the gas out of it. Once I fixed this I found out that my fuel line is also suspect but I am unable to find just the fuel line. This was just my experience. BTW the primer bulbs can be found at Lowes. Fuel lines nowhere to be found yet. I am on hold with Troy Bilt techsupport to see if I can just get the fuel line.

I don't see a carb repair kit listed in the parts list, you might want to replace the carb...

A primer bulb will not work correctly when 1. There are holes in the fuel lines inside OR outside the tank 2. The fuel filter has broken off the line inside the tank and is not staying immersed in fuel. 3. The fuel lines are breaking up and bits and pieces are inside the fine metal screen IN the carburetor 4.. The main nozzle check valve is stuck open in the throat of the carburetor.5. The dreaded hairline crack in the bulb itself. These symptoms are quite easy to check. Sometimes, just replacing the bulb is not enough. The fuel lines and filter need to be replaced too. The covers need to be taken off of the carburetor and the inside of the carb cleaned....especially the circular fine mesh screen under the pump cover. When it clogs with debris, the primer can't pull fuel into the carb because the clog stops it.
There are repair kits for all of these small diaphragm carburetors..Full rebuild or gasket and diaphragm kits. You need to KNOW the make and model of the carb or disassemble it and compare the parts to PICTURES of parts in the kits to get the correct one. New parts are NOT that hard to replace on these. Ebay is a great place to find kits.
As far as mrclean53's machine, I think he needed a new fuel pump diaphragm for the carburetor. His is acting typical of a failed, dried out one. He is fortunate it ran well for 4 years, considering the damage ethanol in fuel causes.
I just realized how old this thread is, but the primer bulb failures REMAIN the same.
Whenever I click on https://forums.ereplacementparts.com/power-tool-repair/57277-check-valve-failures.html I am allowed to go to the originating post.

I posted a comment at Discussion for Nozzle Assembly - Check Valve - ( 84-613-1 ) and located it within the forum threads.
BUT! If, after reading that post, I click on either 'Previous' or 'Next' threads I get the following error message: "Firefox can't find the server at forums.ereplacementparts.compower-tool-repair."
I'm sure there is an explanation for this error, but how can I remedy the problem?
