Question: Echo CS-440L Chainsaw

1176789

On the Echo CS-440EVL chainsaw, I need to replace the on-off switch. In the short term, to get the saw running, is the switch closed to run or closed to shut down?

Hello 1176789,

When shutting down the CS-440EVL chain saw. When you slide the switch to off you are closing the circuit. And doing as some techs will call - Ground to Kill-

Hope this helps,
-WJA

Hello rroxberg,

Unfortunately the manufacture no longer supplies the part you are looking for. You may try some small engine repair shops and see if the have something in comparison you can use.

Good luck,

Question: Crazy Carb

974851

I have a 440 evl (echo) that i have been cutting trees and fire wood with for 15 years ..Only needed to be cleaned and adjusted till now..started running fast and would'nt idle down. Adjustments do little. I did a major rebuild on the carb,, fuel and metering diaphrams ,,high and low valve screws,,etc. and it ran perfect for a few hours or less. Went back to the same problem. Now it acts a little worse like it is running off gas poured in and ignores carb and throttle ..late response on revving. maybe one of the new parts are defective. The first thing I did was install the new adjusting screws and that seemed to be what it needed but shortly it went back to reving late and no idle. I could describe it as though you are throwing gas at it from a distance. ONly runs at full throttle.. I have taken the carb apart several times trying to find a hole that is pluged or a mistake ...been very carefull...
