Question: Charger

saundra

I replaced the battery but the wiring for the charger detached and it won't hold the charge.

Hello saundra,

The manufacture does not have a wiring diagram or parts diagram for the 90540361SV charger. You might be able to take it to a tool repair center in your area, to see if the can rewire it correctly. Other than that, you may have to purchase a new charger.

Hello memyself,

Looking at the parts diagram, it looks like the front of the guard snaps on to the tab on the front of the motor housing and it has one screw holding it on the back.

Doesn't any one know how to take the battery out? Every one likes to say the battery is bad and change it! Looking at the price of replacement batteres,. buying a new unit makes more sense, kind of like Timex watches used to be!!!!

Yes, you must disassemble the upper housing of the trimmer to replace the battery.

Hi Sheila, It sound like it is time for a new battery. It is part #244373-00 and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com. -Mark
I love my trimmer I just wish the battery would last a little longer I have to recharge to do my whole yard, I have a good size yard though. It's light easy to use best trimmer I have ever had!
Will not hold a charge. Had it for 3 years of very light use. Never had more than 15-20 minutes of battery life from the start.

Ben,
I would guess your battery was bad from the start,,been down that road. But a
new battery did wonders and worked for
up to 1 hour and half at full charge and
steady work.
I got new battery under warranty from store, they agreed that was a bad one.
3 years old you probably out of luck.
