Yes you are correct there is a front and rear using the same part number 503103000 wear strip.

I finally got smart and found an online manual for my saw which told how to remove the blade - turning the screw clockwise. It had apparently been overtightened using an automotive lug wrench, but I got the screw broken loose. I replaced the batteries in the laser guide and now all is well.

I think it will be a pretty easy repair. It is hard for me to be 100% certain as I am just looking at the parts diagram but I believe you will just need to remove the fence and then remove the screw on the bottom of the saw that secures the table. At that point the entire table with motor and blade attached should be able to be removed from the base. The wear strips themselves have little tabs that hold them in place and should change out very easily.

thanks for the opinion on replacing the wear strip. i thought there might be some recalibration needed after everything gets put back together, but i'll cross that bridge...
i think i might as well replace both strips while i have it apart. thanks for the support.

You will need to square the fence to the blade when you remount it. On most all current mitersaws there are indents which lock the saw at the commonly used angles; 0, 45, etc.
If you lock the saw at zero degrees and then square the fence to the blade all of the other indents will automatically be correct as well because they are all set by the indents on the saw. Use a small machinists square to set the fence to the blade and then tighten down the fence bolts. You should then be ready to go.

I'm in this same process. I can't manage to separate the base from the rest of the assembly. Is there a trick?

I suspect my saw has a wear strip issue also, but I cannot get the bolt out that holds the saw together. Is this bolt right handed thread or left handed? Did they use locktite on the threads when assembled? thanks
