what would cause this? would the O-Rings from the spill valve and thermal release valve o-ring? or would the spill valve be bad because i did have the preasure come and go last fall before i parked it for the winter.

My guess is that the part number, 4.591-040.0 spill valve or as other people call it, the unloader valve was replaced to take care of his problem.
First where do I locate Vidio # 2, on replace spill valve? Cost wise which is better, rebuild pump or buy new one. Is there a complete rebuild kit with all valves, springs etc including Spill parts, which Part #. I understand a new pump cost around $250.00, if that's so wouldn't it be better to buy a complete new pressure washer, maybe upgrading to 3000 psi??
I cleaned the pump and replaced the spill valve. The pump works as expected at engine idle speed (Not so much pressure). When I "give it the gas" and bring the engine up to power, the pump pulses. Suggestions?
I have a K2400HH Karcher pump. I have it taken apart and upon inspection, there is a lot of calcium built up on the parts and casings. I especialy had difficulty getting the spill valve out. My concern is the calcium in the bottom of the piston guidance housing and the "scratches I made in the top of the housing in getting the spill valve out. Spill valve $12, housing $55, Repair kit $99. Looks like at $193 a complete pump is a better option. Note: pump is about ten years old with no use the last 5 years. Motor works great. Pump is the problem. Intermittent to no water pressure. Thank you. PS Video to repair pump was great!
I would try fixing it. Give it a good cleaning and replace the unloader valve. Unless the scratches are really deep and extent beyond the upper o-ring on the unloader I don't think that they will effect the function of your pump. The small wire brushes from a gun cleaning kit work great to remove the calcium from the castings. Let us know how it works out for you.

Everything went together well. Pump still does not work wright. The pump pressure "Pulses". When I throttle down the pump, to works ok but I do not have the pressure I should have. Argh. Suggestions?
Is there a part 2 video to see what happens after you dis-assemble and clean. What type oil is used in the pump assembly? I have a water leak between the brass top housing and the cast middle housing. I'm not sure which seal will solve the water leak between the 2 body pieces. I planned on buying the kit (part number: 2.884-214.0) Will this solve this problem?
The spill valve is held in place by the lower O-ring and usually some calcium deposits. To remove the valve you grab the metal tab on the top of the valve with a good pair of needle node pliers. The pliers must have a good set of teeth on the jaws or they will simply slip off. Then the valve is pulled out of the housing.
We have a couple of videos that show a complete Karcher pressure washer pump rebuild. Parts of these videos cover the removal and installation of the spill valve.

Karcher specifies using 15W40 non detergent oil in their pressure washer pumps. They do have their own oil that they recommend using. The oil is part #6.288-050.0
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew what weight oil my power washer used for the engine not the pump. It has the original Honda engine but I don't have the paperwork so I am unsure of the specs. I was going to go with the traditional SAE30 but wanted to be sure.
I have a K2400HH gas powered pressure washer. When I pull the trigger, it takes a while before it pressures up, not enough pressure. What parts do I need?
Most pressure washer issues concerning no pressure or intermittent pressure can be traced to the spill valve, item #12 on page D. I have seen the shaft in the valve broken in half before. Usually the valve is just very dirt or covered in scale. Replacing the valve should fix the problem. When the new valve is installed, the upper o-ring should be lubricated with some Teflon grease. Do not lubricate the lower o-ring or the valve will not stay seated properly.
I have a k2400hh pressure washer. It runs great but will not pressure up when I pull the gun trigger. Nothing happens, the motor doesn't rev up. Even if I manually rev the motor it still doesn't pressure up.

I recently placed Order Number: 1685958. I just want to mention that the part arrived on a Saturday and that evening I had the part replaced in my pressure washer and back running before Sunday morning. Your detailed video on the "Replacement of the Spill Value" on the Karcher Pressure Washer was all that I needed to get the job done. Thanks for your step by step instructions. A satisfied customer.
