Discussion for the Bosch 11230EVS (0611230739) Hammer Drill
I have my Bosch 11230evs drill disassembled and have diagnosed the non-hammering issue to the crank arm being broken from the hammer piston. How do I disassemble all of the components of the Impact housing, specifically the guide tube.
It is going to be an electrical issue. You will need to isolate and test each component. A multimeter should be all you need to do the diagnosis. You will need to test or inspect the cord, switch, circuit board, brushes, armature and field. Any one of these could be causing your hammer to not turn on.
My 11230 evs broke the plastic dogbone looking connecting rod which connects the eccentric gear to the reciprocal piston . its like a connecting rod for a engine . could not see pic of part in schematics
How does one get to and remove the rotor of this drill. model#11230 evs.I have already started to dis-assemble but I can't get to the rotor?any help is appreciated.
I have a Bosch 11230EVS, SDSMax, that doesn't hammer at all. It feels like the piston isn't even moving. Drills turns ok, but absolutely no hammering action, or even a sound the the hammer function is even there. I've always taken care of my own stuff, and just downloaded the parts diagram. Is this something I can fix?
Hey Creteman,
Sometimes these can be simple problems or they can turn into very complicated link removed the hammer drill develops a "dry pocket" where the striker and or the impact shaft loses its lubrication and just becomes link removed dis-assembly is required and possible o-ring replacement and of course re lubing of the piston and striking chamber..you also need to use the right amount of grease and oil..you might also have some damaged parts the need replaced..there is also some specific dis-assembly procedures to follow...so..this one I would take into a repair center..:)
hope this helps?

Thanks Craig. After reveiwing the parts diagram, and a more than 2 "second thoughts" about doing this myself, I took your advice.

If its not to late let me chim in. How long have you had the tool. Is it cold were your at. Try on thing before you take it in. start out in low speed. if it hammers at all. let it run there for about 60 seconds. then slowly turn up the speed. When there cold. the lube is to thick and wont let the striker slide in the piston. let me lnow if this works. I see it alot in the winter.
I hope 5 being less respectable. I have owned two 11230evs drills, both have stopped drilling and have created damage because of that. Because they continue to hammer, they destroy whatever I drill. Both seem that the spur wheel clutch has worn excessively. I prefer Bosch equipment, however I cannot justify the repairs for tools that have less than 100 hrs on them.
