Question: Alligator Lopper

Melanie

I can't get the cutting bar to sit correctly. It lies tilted against the covers. Is there a part under the cutting bar that I'm missing?

Just had the same problem with mine. Turns out there's two metal spacers that slide onto the mounting bolts between the lopper and the bar. I had dropped one, so when I went back to assemble it, it went on crooked and into the covers. It's not shown in the diagram above, but I found it listed (but not sold, go figure) at link removed, Part Number 490779-00. It says that it's for the LP1000-B2 Type 1 and LP1000-BR Type 1, but I have no idea how they're different, so I'd just as well assume they're the same. Hope that helps.

Question: Replacement Chain

Jane Pappone

Where can I get a replacement chain? I can no longer tighten chain...it has gotten too stretched??

LOVE IT! Got one for my wife 2 years ago, she is 65 and weighs 95 lb. She will cut with it for hours and has worn it out cutting kindling wood. I think she caused a plastic gear to crack because she wants to cut "sticks" larger than 4 inches in diameter.I ordered a new one and I am going to fix the old one for a spare.

One of my favorite tools ever. I have loaned it to three of my good friends and they all ended up buying one. Much handier than a regular chiain saw for anthing under 4 inches in diameter.

I love this tool. I do a lot of tree trimming and this tool makes quick work of reducing the trimmings to managable sizes. As a matter of fact, I have worn out my first Alligator and am looking for replacement parts.
