Ryobi has been showing this belt as beeing backordered with no projected availibility.
Is a substitution for this belt. another source or do I have to replace a new tool??

How many post are leading into this switch? four or two?

I have a belt /disc sander. The disc works just fine, but the belt slows down when any pressure is applied when trying to use the belt sander. Is this a bushing problem?

OK, my motor just hums when I turn it on. So I removed the Starter Cap and it tested good on DVM - it starts at low Resistance and charges up to an open circuit reading.

Could the Starter Relay be the problem?

For motors with starter caps, there is supposed to be a switch that disconnects the starter coil once the motor gets going. Is this the function of this relay?

I need a total price for the work table and the miter gauge complete with the support rod clamp nuts bolt screws bolts. I picked one up used and it is missing those parts.

I was sanding some wood and there was a loud bang and smoke. I unplugged the sander and opened the bottom plate and found the capacitor just blew up. Paper and black stuff all over the place. This sander was only used a few times in my little shop so it was like new. What would cause this to happen? Can I safely put a new capacitor in it?

I cannot find the operations for my sander. I need instructions on how to put on a new belt.

Is the miter gauge available complete? If so what is the part number?

I have looked at your parts list and find no drive belt replacement for the 4600. Can you advise me where I can get a replacement?

I bought this Ryobi BD4600 belt sander a few years ago, using it mostly for metal fabrication. It recently started tripping the main circuit breaker, and I'm assuming that from the repeated metal use, that the motor is shorting internally. I never ran the unit with a vacuum attached, and assume the build of of metal shavings has created this problem. I pulled the motor and cleaned it thoroughly w/electrical contact cleaner, and blew the whole unit out w/compressed air. Still trips the breaker.

Has anyone experienced this problem?? a replacement motor is the same $ as a new machine.

I have a bd4600 sander when power is on belt & disk turn but when I apply presure to the belt it stops tried new belt. is there a adjustment? any feedback would be welcomed

The belt that drives the 4 x 6 sanding belt does not stand up to even moderate sanding. This is a big draw back on this tool. Plus finding a place that supplies replacement belts is a real pain.

I am an amateur woodworker who has a BD 4600 Belt/Disc Sander and am quite pleased with it. I have replaced the sanding belt twice and the sanding pads several times, and found both fairly easy to change. I have been very pleased with all of my Ryobi tools.

I bought a ryobi Bd4600 sanding station and was very happy with the machine , until the belt broke . I've tried too get one every where ,but to no avail . This seems to be a seriuos problem with a lot of users . There is no excuse for this . Mine is now going to become a warrenty problem . Yes I am really ticked off

have used sanding belt a very few times .the theeth on the cog belt strips almost right away

I have owned the bd4600 for some time now.. the only thing that has gone wrong is the drive belt.. the one thing I would recommend is a better disk sander table. This one is a little weak. Here on e replacement link removed they listed and had available the belts. It is easy to replace. following the instructions and loosening the tensioner is all it took..... for a nice portable this is a good machine..

OK tool but replacing something as simple as a drive belt is ridiculously impossible, make me want to chuck the unit in the trash. Parts listed on line do not include a drive belt for the belt sander. The store that sold me the Ryobi BD4600 doesn't carry replacement belts, its been suggested they might be available the next county over. Finding disc belts on the internet is no less frustrating, so for now I have useless tool within six months of purchase.
