Question: Delta Chargers Or Replacements

JacksPlace

Does anyone have an idea on how to locate a charger for a Delta CL180 ,or a replacement charger? Thanks
I got a set w/no batt.s no wonder it was such a good deal.anyone got a wasted battrey thay would sell me so I can hardwire its case atleast I can make use of the tools I burned myself link removed
...it worked well for a while, then the charger went out. I could not find another. Took it to a repair shop, just to be told it could not be repaired, or, apparently replaced without major financing.

Question: Battery Or Charger

Mike

How can I tell if my 18v batteries are bad or the charger. I put the batteries on the charger but they don't charge. The light combination on the charger is always at precharge.

I have exactly the same problem. It is the charger, not the batteries. And I am having a heck of a time finding a CL180C Delta charger.

Have the same problem...No lights. It says precharge and to see the manual. I don't have the manual. This is my last Delta product. They are now in the same spot as Craftsman.

Ditto. I have exactly the same problem and difficulty in finding a charger.

I have 2 of these drills. (4 batteries and 2 chargers) 3 of the batteries are bad now and the fourth is going fast. I think the batteries don't last more than 2 years.

I bought the CL180 combo pack - the batteries and charger have been a problem from the git go. Haven't been able to use all the equipment because of poor battery and charger problems. Will never buy Delta AGAIN!

Sand/polish contacts and charger and battery.
Late to the party. Mine just died also. Light use so it lasted almost 4 years. But now won't charge. Came here looking for replacement parts. What brand is good and will stand behind it?
I agree w/Cindy--0 would not be low enough! This is the problem today. Everything you buy is just disposable junk and Delta "coined" the phrase, "you get what you paid for." This is the 3rd product I have purchased in the last 5 yrs. ($300 troy-built chain saw & $100 Remington elect. pole saw) and have been told "parts not available and/or item not made anymore. It used to be a manufacturer was required to supply parts for 10 yrs.I guess that's gone away too. Typical corporate policy, thanx for buying but the heck w/you after you buy.

Same issue, nice tools, charger is junk. Delta is VERY aware of the problem and ignores it. Though I got a good price at Lowes... Google CL180, Delta 18 volt etc and you will find many posts on this issue. I am going to see if I can push them on this. A small claims court in AZ is easy to file in. I HATE being ripped off.

hay this looks like a good place to get siggs for small claims court..I'm game..
The batteries are junk. Cannot replace them and, in fact, the batteries are not listed in the Delta inventory of parts. Sorry, but the set of Delta tools are a "pig in a poke." They are no good if there are not batteries available when the originals fail.

The drill and other tools are just fine... too bad Delta does not support the product!

Will not purchase another Delta product.

You can have the batteries rebuilt at Battery Boys or many other battery stores, such as Interstate Batteries. The price isn't too bad either.
If I could have put a zero in, I would. I bought the Combo Set at Lowes. I have nice tools that cannot charge. I thought this was a good set as Delta used to be a dependable brand. I will try to replace the fuse, but will be looking for a completely different
set. Any suggestions guys?
Has anyone found a source for replacing the CL180C (charger) &/or the CL180B (battery) for less than the price of the entire 5 piece set? The manufacture (delta-porter-cable) was irritated when I called and tried to even get any direction on finding replacement components for what now seems to be a not even a good boat anchor. Unacceptable customer service... 3-4 yr max on life of this set, now useless? Think I'll go out and buy more of their products?!

Five tools times everyone who every bought this set end up in our landfills after 2-3 years of use, because they don't support battery replacement. Corporate irresponsibility on so many levels. I'm mad about my five packs of crap.

Try "Just Batteries" for replacement battery. Check corrosion on contacts of charger and battery. Use fine sandpaper with charger unplugged!

I have the same problem, and found these guys on eBay. They seem legit, though their video is very wacky. I'm gonna try them out. This seems to make more sense than buying a whole new set of tools every five years.

Bought my combo at Lowe's, who no longer sells Delta and will not supply batteries or chargers. My combo is so new I still need to find a solution, but like the folks before me I'll never buy Delta again.

The charger quickly fails and is nearly impossible to replace. The drill performed well when power was available. A Panasonic 15.6v out performs 18v Delta. I will never purchase Delta cordless products again.

I feel the same way. I too bought my set from Lowe's and now I need a charger and can't find one.

I also bought the 18v Delta Shopmaster set which served me well until the batteries would no longer charge. The charger (CL180C) is the problem. Opening the charger there is a fuse which can be replaced if burned out. However, my prob is the larger resistor on the board which has fried and the fact that no one can get me a replacement. I understand that it is a 930 ohm specific resistor but impossible to find. Anyone have a contact for the 'uncommon, nearly non-existent' resistor?
