Question: NST1024 Trimmer/edger Battery Ch...
Last year (8/31/12) Reference #120831-001342, I talked to a company representative about the fact that I couldn't get the battery to charge, and ultimately I received a new charger. Presently I am experiencing the same difficulties, and rather than going to the expense of purchasing either a new charger, or a new battery, I thought I would ask if you have any suggestions? Is there a way that I can take the battery to a local B&D dealership to have the battery tested, or to ask for their assistance. I am thinking that my only option is to purchase a new edger/trimmer even though this item was purchased at Home Depot in 2011?????!!!! Needless to say, I have never been quite satisfied with my initial purchase. Thanks for your feedback. RM 06/20/2013

You should be able to locate a Dewalt Service Center in your area.(they service B&D tools) and have them test both the battery and charger. If you don't have one close, to take it to a power tool repair shop in your area and they should be able to take care of you.

Can you tell me more about the plastic lever part number 90543402. The trimmer works fine but the feed for the twine keeps coming out too fast and I thought maybe the lever has something to do with this. Please advise.

The part number 90543502 lever that will feed the line out when needed. If it is worn or broken what is happening to you will occur. You can replace it by using a pair of pliers to remove the old one and then just press the new one back in.
Question: Motor Replacement
I was wondering if it is possible to just get a motor ass'y. I'm disapointed that it didn't even last one year.
Reply: Motor Replacement
The only way you are going to be able to replace the motor in your trimmer, is to purchase the part number, 90557451 bare unit. Which probably is not to far away from the cost of a new one.
