Servicing the spark arrestor
1. Remove the back cover
Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws and pull the cover off of the generator.
2. Remove the muffler
Use a socket to remove the three bolts and pull the muffler away from the generator.
3. Pull out the spark arrestor
Simply pull the spark arrestor out of the muffler.
4. Clean the spark arrestor
Use a small metal brush or a torch to clean the carbon off of the spark arrestor. Then let it cool and set it back in the muffler.
5. Reinstall the muffler
Reinstall the muffler by fastening it to the muffler with the three bolts.
6. Reinstall the back cover
Set the cover back into position and secure it using the screw that were removed in the first step.
