My cooker isn't building pressure and I'm thinking it's the sealing ring. What else might it be before I buy a new ring?

Hello Kathy, Thank you for the question. If the pressure cooker is not building up pressure, it is normally because of a lid that hasn't been closed properly or not holding a good seal. If you don't have an airtight seal, steam may escape through the side vents and not build enough to create high-pressure cooking. If the lid is being used properly, the seal will need to be replaced. Cooking rack I haven't stacked jars to can but am assuming that a rack goes between layers. And then is it still 3 qts of water to process?
