Question: Confused About Parts

I have a Porter Cable Router Model 1002 Type 3. I am trying to order a plunge base for it.
Order dept. said the same part that fits a 6902 will work- part number 6931 and cost about 124.oo. When I look up 6931 it says $180.72, special order, for a Model 1002 Type3. Says nothing about a 6902. Any answers??
