The clamp bolt secures the blade on your miter saw. The bolt has reverse threads so it doesn't loosen while using the saw. After years of use, the threads can be damaged.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE CLAMP BOLT 1. Remove the clamp bolt.
a. Raise the guard.
b. Loosen the screw securing the front of the guard assembly.
c. Pivot the toward the rear of the saw to reveal the center clamp bolt.
d. Depress the spindle lock button.
e. Rotate the blade until the spindle lock engages.
f. Use the wrench (supplied with the saw) to loosen the clamp bolt. (The bolt is reverse-threaded.)
g. Remove the clamp bolt from the saw.
INSTALLING THE NEW CLAMP BOLT
2. Install the clamp bolt.
a. Thread the new clamp bolt into the spindle assembly.
b. Lock the spindle.
c. Tighten the clamp bolt with the wrench.
REASSEMBLING THE UNIT
3. Reinstall the guard.
a. Pivot the guard toward the front of the saw to align the guard bracket.
b. Tighten the screw to secure the front guard bracket.
c. Lower the guard.
