How to Replace the Side Handle on a DeWALT Grinder

Finish Nailer Repair - Replacing the Driver Guide (Ridgid Part # 79004001022)
DeWALT grinder handle

The side handle gives you additional leverage to control your tool. Side handles are typically used on grinders or drills. On a grinder, it provides a second grip, so the grinder is less likely to kick back at you. On a drill, it helps you to control the torque when drilling a large hole; or as the drill bit breaks through when drilling in metal.

Let's get started.

REMOVING THE SIDE HANDLE   1. Remove the side handle.

a. Unscrew and remove the side handle from the tool.

INSTALLING THE NEW SIDE HANDLE

  2. Install the side handle.

a. Thread the new side handle onto the tool.
