Replacing the throttle trigger on a Ryobi trimmer The Facts

Trimmer out of whack? It's time to face the fix. Whether you are a legendary landscaper or a weekend weed whacker, eReplacementParts.com provides the parts, procedures and facts you need to fearlessly fix what fails you.

The throttle trigger is part of the handle assembly on your trimmer. It attaches to the throttle cable, allowing you to open and close the throttle on the trimmer's engine. While it is possible for the trigger to break during normal use, it is more likely to be damaged from external impacts (such as dropping the unit). Replacing the throttle trigger is easy to do.

This article provides step-by-step instructions for removing and installing the throttle trigger on a Ryobi string trimmer.

Partially install the trigger and spring assembly onto the mounting post in the lower housing.

Partly install the trigger

Use a screwdriver to pull the trigger spring into position behind the plastic tab in the throttle housing.
