The table insert is a removable metal plate that fits into the center of the table and surrounds the blade (where the blade passes through the table). The insert is removable to make blade changes easier. Over time, the table insert can get nicked by the blade, creating a larger opening around the blade. Doing scroll work with narrower blades will often cause the insert to wear out faster.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE TABLE INSERT 1. Remove the table insert.
1. Remove the table insert.
a. Push the insert from the underside of the table.
b. Remove the table insert from the saw.
INSTALLING THE NEW TABLE INSERT
2. Install the table insert.
a. One side of the insert is rounded on the edge; the other side contains a sharp angle. It is recommended to keep the rounded side up to allow material to more easily slide over the table insert.
b. Install the new table insert into the slot on the table (surrounding the blade).
