Product Description ?

This is an OEM replacement part and is sold individually.
Its propose is to deliver an electric current from an ignition system to the combustion chamber of a gas fueled engine.
It will ignite the air fuel mixture by the spark.
Spark Plugs will usually have to gapped to the manufactures specifications found in the owners manual.

Over time a Spark Plug will become fouled because the air/fuel ratio may be set wrong, worn piston rings, carbon build up and other factors.
It is better to replace a fouled spark plug, rather then trying to clean it.

Grommet was missing. Ordered new grommet and spark plug Removed the old spark plug and gapped the new one at 0.030. After replacing these parts and adding gas, mower cranked after numerous pulls. After cutting the grass the mower now cranks on first pull. This mower had not been cranked in over a year. I also mixed "Mechanic in a Bottle" with the gas.

Had to figure out the torque spec on a Briggs 5 hp, horizontal shaft engine but did a little internet searching and found it.

Remove the existing motor head carefully to ensure that the bolts were tracked for reassembly and not lost. Scrapped the existing gasket material from the head and the motor housing. Took a little time to wire wheel carbon from the piston and valves. Put the new gasket on the head and reassembled. Torqued it down to what I believe is the proper spec.

Changed the spark plug and air filter.

    Started on the second pull.
