The drain valve is threaded into the bottom of your compressor's tank. It allows you to drain the water and condensation that forms inside the tank. Over time, the drain valve can begin to leak, or be sealed shut (due to corrosion). When this happens, the valve will need to be replaced.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE DRAIN VALVE 1. Remove the drain valve.
a. Use a small adjustable wrench to remove the drain valve from the bottom of the tank.
INSTALLING THE NEW DRAIN VALVE
2. Install the drain valve.
a. Wrap the threads of the new drain valve with thread tape.
b. Thread the new drain valve into the tank.
c. Use the adjustable wrench to tighten (and secure) the drain valve to the tank.
