Product Description ?

This is a Genuine Honda replacement part, it is sold individually.
Its propose is to deliver an electric current from an ignition system to the combustion chamber of a gas fueled engine.
It will ignite the air fuel mixture by the spark.
Spark Plugs will usually have to gapped to the manufactures specifications found in the owners manual.

Over time a Spark Plug will become fouled because the air/fuel ratio may be set wrong, worn piston rings, carbon build up and other factors.
It is better to replace a fouled spark plug, rather then trying to clean it.

    Great part
I know it is only a spark plug, but it is the right heat. The last two I had one from a big box stores and the other from a auto parts store were wrong. After putting in the right spark plug my mower runs as new. I am very satisfied with this part.

Way cheaper than other online sites and local lawnmower shop
This place has great prices. Received my Honda mower replacement parts quickly. Glad I can still get parts for my 18 year old Honda mower and get them for 1/4 the cost that others charges for same exact OEM Honda parts.

    Running rough and rpms surging

    1. I removed the old carburetor (three 10 mm bolts behind the air cleaner element), noting the order of the gaskets, the spacer, the shield plate and the linkage connections.
    2. I disconnected the fuel line after moving the spring clip with pliers.
    3. I connected the new carburetor to the two linkages and with new gaskets, reusing the spacer at the engine block. I also attached the fuel line and moved the spring clip back in place to secure the hose.
    3. I tightened the 10 mm bolts that hold the carb in place.
    4. I replaced the air cleaner element and then the spark plug (also changed the crankcase oil).
    5. Runs great now!

    Dead Carburetor on Old Tiller

    Glory - January 19, 2016
👍 6 of 8 people found this instruction helpful
The carburetor on my 10+ year old tiller finally stopped working correctly. I took the old one off and put the new one on. It wasn't as hard as I'd envisioned. I had my husband check my work when he came home as I'd never done this before. It took a few pulls and my old tiller works great. Actually, it hasn't run that smoothly in a good many years.

Even for a total newbie like me there really aren't any special instructions. I just took everything off that I needed to while noting their position and how they were in there in the first place. Then replaced the parts and put it back together. The nice thing is that the only socket I needed was a 10mm. There were two short screws and two very long bolts holding it on and that's all. Really not a bad repair. I think my time is higher because it was my first ever engine repair. It would probably take a person who knows what they are doing far less time.

Removed old plug with a deep socket made for spark plugs.
Put anti-seize on new spark plug threads and electrical grease (Plug wire grease, Ox-guard, etc.) on plug connection.
Started spark plug threads by hand, and then used wrench. Torqued to approx 5 to 10 ft-lbs (Until I felt crush washer finish compressing and then 1/8 to 1/4 turn of wrench).
    Re-connected plug wire.

    lawn mower would stall out

    michael - November 21, 2016
👍 1 of 1 people found this instruction helpful
I rebuilt the carburetor once before and mower ran better for a while. This time I purchased a new carburetor assembly and replace it along with a new spark plug. Job went well except there are two bolts that hold a number of pieces together including three gaskets, the carburetor, the air filter and a manifold piece to the block, so it can be a little tricky bolting it all back together.

Log Splitter Honda engine was hunting and would run only when the choke was almost fully closed.

    Bill - November 13, 2016
👍 1 of 1 people found this instruction helpful
After cleaning the old carburetor (hunting not corrected), installed the new carburetor. The engine continued to hunt. After checking all gaskets closely, discovered that the insulator between the carburetor and engine was installed backwards. This allowed air into the engine downstream of the carburetor, making the engine run lean and overspeed. Putting the insulator on correctly solved the hunting problem.

Drive belt Broken, Starter Rope broken, Missing handle bolt and nut, Missing discharge door latch and Tune Up

    Richard - September 14, 2016
👍 1 of 1 people found this instruction helpful
    1. Inserted bolt into the handle and attached nut.
    2. Replaced spark plug
    3. Installed new discharge door latch
    4. Removed old starter rope, installed new starter rope and rewound rope
    5. Installed new pull handle on rope
    6. Took mower blade off, removed drive belt shield, removed drive wheels, removed pulley guards and installed the new belt. (This was the most time-consuming part as it required a significant disassembly of the drive unit and lower drive unit to remove the drive belt shield and pulley guards.)
This mower is a 12-year-old Lawn Boy 10656 self-propelled mower. Other than basic maintenance I had never done anything to it. So, for about 2.5 hours of work and the cost of the parts it was a smart fix. It runs like a new mower and saved me at least $350. I was glad to be able to find these parts here at a decent price. I will definitely look here first in the future to find replacement parts.

Engine faltered when put under load

Removed air filter, carburetor, fuel tank, fuel pump, spark plug and associated hardware. Disassembled carburetor, cleaned with carburetor cleaner and air pressure. Assembled carburetor, cleaned fuel tank. Installed carburetor, with new gaskets. Installed fuel tank, new fuel pump and new spark plug. Runs like a champ.
First thing to check with this problem is fuel cap. If vent is plugged, engine will starve for fuel. Just loosen the cap and try to run. If it works OK then the cap vent is plugged.
Make sure to use fresh fuel.
Suggest installing a fuel filter if line if not installed.
Make sure you check the drawing online and make sure you purchase the correct number of gaskets.
