    It was not running properly

I cleaned out the carburetor for spring and disassembled the carburetor. When I pulled out the two bolts that hold the air cleaner to the carburetor, the carburetor and all of the gaskets fell out. when I replaced them my mower did not run properly. I bought a workshop manual and all new gaskets to show me the orientation of the gaskets and it runs as good as the day I purchased it.

CHEAPER and FASTER to replace carburetor assembly and gaskets than to disassemble and clean/replace parts. Had already determined carb problem(s). Started 2nd pull after reassembly and after warmed up adjusted idle speed. Now my pressure washer is ready when I need it.

Air cleaner case had cracked at the snaps.

    David - June 3, 2018
Pulled old case off. I studied the on line video which was very helpful. On the video he does the repair by himself. I strongly suggest a second pair of hands that can hold the assembly together as you slip on the gaskets, governor etc.

Replaced carb on tiller 5 HP Honda engine. Was back firing and low power.

    Duane - October 28, 2017
Found a couple of videos to look at before doing the repair. Took my time. Removed fuel tank. Drained fuel tank. Removed air box and filter. Removed Carb. Linkage was a bit tricky but it turned out well. Hoses removed fairly easy. Also replaced fuel filter and air filter. All went back together well. Also put in new spark plug and changed oil. Fresh gas and ready to go. A few pulls to get started as the carb was dry. Runs great. Just be careful not to bend linkage or stretch springs.

    1. Removed old carb
    2. Aligned gaskets, 3 separate gaskets, this was the tricky part since the bolts go through the air filter housing.
    3. Tightened bolts
    4. Re-installed throttle cable and governor spring
    5. Reattached fuel line to carb
    6. Attached gas shut-off valve to support
    7. Installed air filter and cover
