Removed old carburetor and replaced with new one. Lawn mower runs great now and engine does not surge anymore. Took a look at a YouTube video on cleaning the carburetor for reference. Pretty easy to do even if you do not know much about small engines.

After purchasing a new pump for my old Honda Excell pressure washer, I was bummed to find out that my carb had apparently fouled/gummed over the winter. I spent a few hours and bucks on trying to clean the carb, but to no avail. After testing the fuel pump to see if was functioning perfectly I was very pleased to see that for only $28 I c ould get the carb, gaskets, and a new air cleaner from here!! Having already taken the old carb on/off a few times I was plenty familiar with the myriad of items that have to be held up and go through two bolts for this engine/carb setup. After 4-5 pulls(cause the fuel bowl was dry), the engine started right up. I was finally able to pressure wash my driveway this past weekend and the engine fired on the first pull and ran for 7 hours without fault. Love the great price for parts, and fast shipping here, and will certainly return if anything else should fail on my small engines!!

1. I removed the old carburetor (three 10 mm bolts behind the air cleaner element), noting the order of the gaskets, the spacer, the shield plate and the linkage connections.
2. I disconnected the fuel line after moving the spring clip with pliers.
3. I connected the new carburetor to the two linkages and with new gaskets, re using the spacer at the engine block. I also attached the fuel line and moved the spring clip back in place to secure the hose.
3. I tightened the 10 mm bolts that hold the carb in place.
4. I replaced the air cleaner element and then the spark plug (also changed the crankcase oil).
5. Runs great now!

Mower would only run with choke on

Our Honda mower had been dormant for 2-3 years and would only run with the choke 3/4 on. Having encountered this problem in the past with other equipment I ordered a new carburetor and related gaskets from ereplacementparts.com, installed them and it now runs as it should. Have found that trying to clean small engine carburetors is a wast e of time and money in most cases. This was a fairly simple job, however anyone contemplating this should look at their engine schematic and make sure you order the accompanying gaskets etc so you don\'t get it apart and have to wait for overlooked items to get it back together. ereplacement parts.com provided OEM Honda parts and delivered them quite quickly. This was a log splitter that would only run with choke full open. Tried couple of things on forums with no luck. When I pulled the carburetor to clean, I found couple of gaskets in bad shape & air filter casing bolted to carb was cracked so figured air was being sucked in around/thru gaskets/casing causing engine to run having too much ai r mixture. All good now. Was difficult to get all gaskets on at one time by slowly pushing the 2 retaining bolts thru as each gasket would be inserted in its place. Very little room to work in. Using your expanded diagrams made sure I had each gasket in correct position. Was amazed at your low prices! Great website!

CHEAPER and FASTER to replace carburetor assembly and gaskets than to disassemble and clean/replace parts. Had already determined carb problem(s). Started 2nd pull after reassembly and after warmed up adjusted idle speed. Now my pressure washer is ready when I need it.
