The dust hood allows you to attach a dust collector to your planer to gather the shavings and dust it produces. The hood attaches to the back of the planer and has an outlet to attach the dust collection hose. Most dust hood problems are the result of accidental damage, such as something falling on it, or from pulling on the dust collection hose.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE DUST HOOD 1. Remove the dust hood.
a. Remove the (3) screws securing the dust hood to the tray.
b. Pivot the dust hood up and back toward the planer to disengage the locking tabs.
c. Remove the dust hood from the unit.
INSTALLING THE NEW DUST HOOD
2. Install the dust hood.
a. Install the dust hood onto the tray and align the retaining clips with the tray.
b. Pivot the dust hood (down) to engage the retaining clips.
c. Secure the dust hood with the (3) screws.
