I disassembled the engine. made a list of parts. I looked up the torque values online and using the new parts reassembled the engine. It fired right off and ran smooth. The parts I received from Replacement parts fit perfectly and the price was right. They were delivered in a timely manner.

I had to remove the 8HP engine and associated parts from the tractor.
I didn't have to break down the engine, but removed old seal.
Cleaned the area and used Loctite to re-install new oil seal
Used JB Weld under the seal to hopefully keep the seal in place.
Put engine and all associated parts back on the tractor. Engine did good and no leaks.
Replaced Tube breather on the Breather Assembly too.
Tractor is 48 years old and it's nice to know I can still get parts for it.
    THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First I had to disassembled the Baker Chipper Vac in order to get the engine off. Pulling the rotor head off the crankshaft end took some time with a shop made puller. Once I got that off it was easy enough to split the case and determine that the rod and piston along with the crankshaft surface were ok. What had seized was the crank bearing on the inside of the case. Once I got lubrication to it it started to turn freely. At that point I decided to go no further and ordered parts from Ereplacementparts. Engine is probably 30 years old but Ereplacementparts had what I needed for the Briggs and Stratton.
    THANKS
