The crank handle assembly is used to raise and lower the table on your drill press. The handle assembly has an arm on one end (that attaches to the table adjustment shaft) and a rotating handle on the other. The crank handle assembly can be broken, either by forcing the handle (if the table is bound), or by accidentally hitting the crank handle with a work piece.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE CRANK HANDLE 1. Remove the crank handle.
a. Loosen the set-screw securing the crank handle to the shaft.
b. Remove the crank handle.
INSTALLING THE NEW CRANK HANDLE
2. Install the crank handle.
a. Install the new crank handle onto the shaft.
b. Align the set-screw with the flat portion of the shaft.
c. Tighten the set-screw to secure the crank handle onto the shaft.
