1. Cut the cable ties
Use a pair of snips to cut the cable ties off of the mower handle.
2. Remove the cable end from the control bail
Simply unhook the end of the control cable from the control bail.
3. Remove the cable from the engine
Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the plastic tab to release it from the bracket.
Then unhook the other cable end from the motor.
4. Pull away the control cable
The cable will have one last connection on the middle of the handle, unhook this to completely remove the cable from the mower.

Installing the Control Cable
1. Re-hook the cable to the handle
Re-secure the cable to the handle by hooking it back into position.
2. Replace the bent-end of the cable to the engine
Slide the bent end back into the engine bracket.
Then snap the housing back into the other bracket.
3. Insert the other cable end to the control bail
Slide the other end of the cable to the top control bail handle.
4. Secure it to the handle with some zip ties
You'll want to finalize this repair by securing the loose control cable to the handle with some zip ties.
