Tools & Materials
The agitator assembly consists of the wooden roller (with the brushes attached) and the end bearings. After years of use, the brushes on the roller can wear out. The bearings can also wear out and fail.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE AGITATOR ASSEMBLY
1. Use a screwdriver to remove the bottom cover from around the agitator.
2. Remove the agitator from the vacuum.
INSTALLING THE NEW AGITATOR ASSEMBLY
3. Notice that one side has a groove milled in it for the belt.
4. Place the belt over the roller and onto that groove.
5. Pull the agitator up so you can insert the bearings into the housing.
6. Align the bearings with the housing.
7. Align the bottom cover with the vacuum and secure it with the screws.
