Punches
Punches
A worn out punch will cause poor cuts. To replace a worn out punch, slide the collar down on the die. Use a small tool to push out the pin, holding the die on, then remove the die. Loosen the screw behind the nibbler head and remove the punch housing. Count how many rotations it takes to unscrew the punch out of the nibbler. This will allow you to keep the punch at the same height for when you reassemble the nibbler. Install the new punch, counting the same number of rotations in from the time it catches the threads. Reinstall the punch housing, making sure to align it properly with the punch. This could take a bit of time, so be patient. Tighten the screw behind the nibbler head. Reinstall the die and the pin and finally, pull the cover back up over the pin.

A dull die will give you poor cuts. Dies cannot be sharpened, only replaced. To replace a worn out die, lift the collar around the die and push the pin out with a small tool. Pull the die off and install a new one. Reinsert the pin and close the collar around the lip.
