The bit holder holds the standard (quarter-inch hex) screwdriver bits in your driver. It has a wire clip that holds the bit in place, and a magnet that magnetizes the bits (to hold the screws). Common issues with the bit holder are a lost retaining clip, or wear to the hexed walls, causing the bit to slip.

Let's get started.

REMOVING THE BIT HOLDER   1. Remove the adjustment collar.

a. Squeeze the tabs on the sides of the adjustment collar.

b. Pull the adjustment collar away from the screwdriver.

  2. Remove the bit holder.

a. Remove the bit (if present) from the bit holder.

b. Use long-nosed pliers (as-needed) to pull the bit holder out of the locator sleeve.

INSTALLING THE NEW BIT HOLDER

  3. Install the bit holder.

a. Install the new bit holder.

b. Press the new bit holder firmly into the locator sleeve to engage the locking tabs.

REASSEMBLING THE UNIT

  4. Reinstall the adjustment collar.

a. Install the bit into the new bit holder.

b. Align the tabs on the inside of the adjustment collar with the slots on the locator sleeve.

c. Press the adjustment collar firmly against the unit to engage the locking tabs.
