The switch allows you to turn your sander on and off. This switch interrupts both the hot and neutral wires. After thousands of cycles, the switch will wear out; either only turning the sander on intermittently, or not at all.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE SWITCH 1. Remove the handle cover.
a. Remove the screws securing the handle cover.
b. Lift the handle cover up and away from the sander.
2. Remove the switch.
a. Carefully pull the switch assembly away from the housing to access the wires.
b. Note the location of the wires to simplify installation.
c. Remove the screws securing the wires to the switch.
d. Remove the switch from the unit.
INSTALLING THE NEW SWITCH
3. Install the switch.
a. Use the screws to connect the wires to the new switch (in the same configuration as the original wires).
b. Install the switch assembly into the handle housing.
c. Tuck any excess wire into the handle housing.
REASSEMBLING THE UNIT
4. Reinstall the handle cover.
a. Install the handle cover.
b. Secure the handle cover with the screws.
