Tools & Materials
The cordset is a three-wire cord with a quick-connect plug on one end. Power cords tend to receive lots of abuse. The cord can be cut, nicked, internally damaged, or have the prongs broken off. The quick-connect can wear out over time, or it can be damaged by an electric arc if it is not properly tightened. A damaged cord should be immediately replaced to avoid electrical shock.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE CORDSET 1. Remove the cord.
a. Unscrew the quick-connect collar.
b. Disconnect the power cord from the router.
INSTALLING THE NEW CORDSET
2. Install the cord.
a. Align the new cord with the connector on the router (the tab on the coupler should face the top of the router).
b. Press the new cord coupler into the connector on the router.
c. Tighten the quick-connect collar to secure the new cord.
