The lid on your cooler uses two steel hinges to pivot open. The hinges also prevent the lid from opening more than about ninety degrees. The hinges can be bent if the cooler lid is accidentally hit, or if the cooler falls.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE STEEL HINGES 1. Remove the hinges.
a. Remove the screws securing the hinge to the cooler.
b. Remove the hinge.
c. Repeat this step to remove the second hinge.
INSTALLING THE NEW STEEL HINGES
2. Install the hinges.
a. Orient the new hinges so that the circular "button" faces the lower half of the cooler. This will prevent the lid from opening beyond its intended range.
b. Align the new hinge with the mounting holes on the cooler (and lid).
c. Secure the hinge with the (4) screws.
d. Repeat this step to install the second hinge.
