The dust collection bag is a cloth replacement for the lower bag. It has a snap-in retainer that is built into the bag. Over time, the bag can wear out and develop holes.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE COLLECTION BAG 1. Remove the plastic collection bag.
a. Grasp the top portion of the plastic bag.
b. Press the plastic bag toward the center of the dust collector to disengage the snap-in retainer.
c. Remove the plastic bag (and retainer) from the dust collector.
d. Remove the retainer from the plastic bag. (Keep the retainer for future use.)
INSTALLING THE NEW CLOTH COLLECTION BAG
2. Install the cloth collection bag.
a. The cloth collection bag contains an internal retainer.
b. Align the top of the new cloth collection bag (the portion containing the internal retainer) with the flange on the bottom of the drum.
c. Starting at the back of the drum, seat the retainer into the flange.
d. Continue seating the internal retainer into the flange until only a small portion of the retainer is visible at the front of the drum.
e. Press the exposed portion of the retainer toward the center of the drum.
f. Align the retainer with the inner flange on the drum.
g. Carefully release the retainer to secure the cloth bag in place. (Be careful to avoid getting your fingers caught between the retainer and the drum.)
