The belt cover allows you to access (and service) the drive belt. The cover can be damaged by something falling on the saw, or by over-tightening the mounting screws (which can crack or break off the plastic mounting posts). Sometimes, the belt cover can be damaged by a failed drive belt, or a loose belt pulley. If damage occurs to the belt cover, it will need to be replaced.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE BELT COVER 1. Unplug the saw.
a. Disconnect the saw from its power source.
2. Remove the belt cover.
a. Remove the three screws securing the belt cover to the saw.
b. Remove the belt cover.
INSTALLING THE NEW BELT COVER
3. Install the belt cover.
a. Install the new belt cover onto the saw.
b. Secure the belt cover with the three screws.
