Finish Nailer Repair - Replacing the Driver Guide (Ridgid Part # 79004001022)
Tools & Materials
The sub-base attaches to the router's base. It provides a smooth surface to guide the router across the material being shaped. The center hole on the sub-base has a shoulder to accept guide bushings. The four outer holes are windows, which enable you to see the workpiece you are routing. The most common issue with the sub-base is accidental damage caused by dropping the router (or other items coming in contact with the sub-base). The sub-base can also be cracked if the mounting screws are over-tightened. If damage does occur to the router's sub-base, you will want to replace it to keep the router operating properly and accurately.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE SUB-BASE 1. Remove the sub-base.
a. Remove the four screws securing the sub-base to the router.
b. Lift the old sub-base off the router.
INSTALLING THE NEW SUB-BASE
2. Install the sub-base.
a. Align the new sub-base with the mounting holes on the base.
b. Secure the new sub-base with the four screws.
