How to Replace the Guard on a DeWALT Table Saw

Finish Nailer Repair - Replacing the Driver Guide (Ridgid Part # 79004001022)
Guard for DeWALT table saw

The guard assembly on your DeWALT table saw works along with the riving knife and the anti-kickback fingers to cover the saw blade and prevent dangerous kickbacks. Most problems with the guard assembly are the result of accidentally breaking the plastic side guards. After many years of use, the attachment points for the riving knife and the anti-kickback fingers can also wear out.

Let's get started.

REMOVING THE GUARD ASSEMBLY   1. Remove the guard assembly.

a. Disengage the guard lever.

b. Rotate and lift the guard assembly away from the saw.

INSTALLING THE NEW GUARD   2. Install the guard.

a. Install the new guard onto the saw.

b. Engage the guard lever to secure the guard in place.
