How to Replace the Flavorizer Bar Set on a Weber Grill

The flavorizer bars mount above the burner tubes inside your barbecue. They are made of steel and have a durable porcelain-enamel coating on them. The flavorizer bars serve two functions: First, they catch drippings from the food being cooked, which burns off the bars, creating smoke (to add extra flavor to your food). Second, they prevent the drippings from clogging the burner tubes. Eventually, the coating on the flavorizer bars will wear away and the bars will begin to rust.

REMOVING THE FLAVORIZER BARS   1. Remove the flavorizer bars.

a. Remove the warming rack.

b. Remove the grill grates.

c. Remove the old flavorizer bars by lifting them out of the grill box.

  INSTALLING THE NEW FLAVORIZER BARS   2. Install the flavorizer bars.

a. Install the new flavorizer bars into the grill box.

b. Reinstall the grill grates.

c. Reinstall the warming rack.
