How to Replace the Door Magnets on a Weber Grill

Do the doors on your grill’s cabinet swing freely open and closed? If so, you probably need a new door magnet. There are two door magnets on the grill cabinet; one for each door. The magnets hold the cabinet doors closed. The magnet housing is made of plastic, and it attaches to the cabinet with clips. If a clip breaks, the magnet may fall off.

Let's get started.

REMOVING THE DOOR MAGNET   1. Remove the door magnet.

a. The door magnets are located behind the doors at the base of the grill.

b. Reach underneath the grill and depress the two plastic tabs on each side of the magnet.

c. Push the door magnet out of the grill housing (from the rear toward to front).

  INSTALLING THE NEW DOOR MAGNET   2. Install the door magnet.

a. Install the new door magnet into the cabinet assembly.

b. Press the door magnet firmly into the cabinet until the magnet assembly "snaps" into place within the housing.
