    Pliers, Socket set, Dremel

Used gaskets, fuel filter & heat shield as part of a carburetor freshen up on a MTD Yardman with Kohler 15 HP engine. Parts fit great, did have to trim the "ears" off the heat shield with a dremel tool to make the carburetor linkage clear...but that only took a minute & the old tractor fired right up & is running great!

I'll definitely use e-replacement parts again!

After years of sitting due to a bad fuel solenoid and carb, I replaced the carb assembly and studs previously removed, connected the new carb and air intake, installed choke and throttle linkages, oiled the cylinder and rotated the fly wheel by hand. Once ready, I installed a new spark plug, changed the oil and borrowed another mowers battery, I fired up the scotts L1742 that has been sitting for almost 10 years! Some chugging, some smoking and oiling all the steering points a perfectly good mower with 75 hours on it is ready for service again.. why did I let it sit for so long?!

Removed 2-bolts from exhaust pipe, took off muffler and bracket and muffler heat guard. Valve cover, and valve head, on work bench took out retainers, caps, springs valves, push rods. Then cleaned everything.put in new valves, and replaced all parts and gaskets. Before starting project I needed to take out carburetor assembly, air filter assembly.make sure to gap valves. Need to torque bolts on head and valve cover. Clean off gasket glue stuck on heads, valve covers. Needed a tool to compress springs. I used vise grips. you need t-15 torx and 10mm wrench. Standard sockets, and 10mm socket. Buy a gasket kit then you have all gaskets needed for project,

1995 Toro Wheel Horse 265H lawn tractor with Kohler CV15 engine. Removed cooling shroud and covers. Removed mouse nest from around cylinder and head which is apparently what caused tractor to overheat leading to blown head gasket. Removed air breather, carburetor, valve cover and head. Inspected mechanical parts... all ok. Ordered new gaskets from eReplacementParts.com. Parts arrived very quickly. Reassembled engine and then tractor. Runs great!

25+ year old Troy Bilt lawn tractor with Kohler engine. Throttle shaft seal worn off, linkage tab broken off, & throttle shaft was so worn that it was surrounded with brass dust. It would no longer

Pliers, Socket set, Nutdriver, Small torx driver to remove butterfly from throttle shaft

    1. Removed air cleaner.
    2. Removed air cleaner box from the carb.
    3. Removed choke & throttle linkages from choke & throttle
    4. Removed carb body. This took a little tugging, twisting because the gasket was stuck to both the carb body & intake port. Scraped old gasket of both surfaces.
    5. Removed butterfly from throttle shaft.
    6. Replaced throttle shaft & seal; reinstalled butterfly on shaft.
    7. Installed new gasket. I like to use a thin film of grease on gaskets but maybe that's just me.
    8. Repeated steps 4-3-2-1 using "replace" instead of "removed".

I thought my chances of getting replacement parts for an engine this old were about zero. Thanks to eReplacementParts, this old Kohler is running like a top! (It helps, too, that it's a Kohler.)
