It is secured under the deck to cut the grass, over time the blade may become dull or damaged causing irregular cutting patterns.     Replaced belts, blades and mandrel assembly on riding lawn tractor

    Simple repair for the average diy'er. Pull the pins and drop the mower deck, then slide out from under mower. Remove the old, damaged blades, remove and replace the mandrel assembly (3 bolts for the belt shield and 3 bolts on the mandrel), install new blades, put the new belt on, then place deck back under the tractor and reattach. You're good to go.

    Lift the front of the mower and place jacks underneath it and block the rear wheels. Remove the battery cables. Remove the blade bolt and both washers. Then remove the old blades and install the new blades, and place the washers on the spindle and tighten the blade bolts. Attach the battery cables. And lower the mower. Time to cut the lawn now.

    Wedge a piece of wood to block the blade from turning. Then remove the blade bolt and washers and old blade. Then install the new blade in reverse order. Very easy.

    Undid the nut holding each blade in place, and then removed and replaced the blades and replaced the nuts. Not a hard process unless the nuts are rusted on, mine were not.
