This is a genuine OEM supplied belt which is designed for use with Husqvarna, Jonsered and Poulan riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. It is the main belt for the deck that drives the blades. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. One durable rubber v-belt is included. A wrench set might be needed to perform this repair. Check the owner's manual for your model to ensure the correct replacement procedure.

While looking up the deck belt for this unit, I'm getting conflicting part numbers. On the label under the hood of the mower it calls for OEM197253 or 532197253 but online it also says 532197242. Which is it for this model of mower?

The lawnmower belt broke. I ordered belt it came in a reasonable amount of time. I installed new belt only using a pair of pliers to pull pins holding deck to mower. Then started mowing. Easy peasy.l

needed a new air filter, a new spark plug, the carburetor gaskets and the two rear tires

Removed the filter cover, cleaned out the housing, using a small vacuum cleaner, installed the new filter and closed up the housing.
Used a socket and a ratchet to remove the old spark plug, gapped the new spark plug and installed it to factory specifications.
the two rear wheels have lost the tires, due to age and cracking, I installed two new tires.
Removed the carburetor and installed two new base gaskets. one was torn and leaking
That's it, not too exciting.

Mandrel/pulley bearings locked up

Removed pulley nut and pulley
At same time, took blades off.
Removed mandrel assembly nuts
While waiting on parts, I took this time to repaint deck.
Took mandrel assembly and deck to have local shop to
mandrel back on. Didn't want to take the chance
of breaking off these bolts. Guy said he tapped
them first then put them in.
Installed pulleys and blades.
Put belt and blades back on.
