Correct part but not the one I needed
I received the belt in a timely manner and it was the belt I ordered but it was not the belt I needed to fix the issue. In other words I ordered the belt that was recommended in the trouble shooting but it didn't fix the issue. I needed the deck belt instead and that one fixed the issue where my riding mower would not move forward or in reverse. The belts listed on this site are the correct belts for the Sears Craftsman rear engine riding lawnmower model No. 247-290001.

I had to use a impact gun to get pulley off transmission no way to hold pulley, everything else pretty basic. Would not attempt if your not mechanically inclined. Put lawn tractor on stands and just look at drive system real good or take pictures before you start .

    Difficulty

    Hard

    Time

    More than 2 hours

    Tools Used

Removed battery from housing to access upper drive belt location. Removed largest pulley and tried to thread belt around remaining pulleys and then secured largest pulley but unable to stretch belt over all 3 pulleys. The belt was not pliable to any degree. Had to remove the smallest pulley and remove tension spring contrary to what instruction video was showing, not as easy as they made it out to be. Eventually able to pull the tension spring with a wire to attach to the frame. Be prepared to have to remove the small pulley otherwise you cannot thread the belt around all three pullies. Difficult process that tests your patience. Working fine now though and save me quite a bit in transportation and repair cost.

There are good videos out there but here is additional info that I learned only by destroying a new belt and reinstalling another three times before getting it right...
    1. Install belts only in this order: long drive belt, short drive belt, mower deck belt.
    2. Have to put the long drive belt on the crank spindle before putting it on the rear pulley.
    3. Before tightening anything, check that the long drive belt is over top of pedal rod.
    4. Before tightening anything, check that all belts are inside all keepers.
