Hello Shirley, Thank you for contacting us. I have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is Part Number: 954-04060C. Hope this helps!
I need an upper drive belt for my Bolens 38" lawn mower tractor. I ordered one but it is too short and will not fit over the idler pulley. My order number was 12041589. My part #954-04002. Please advise.
Matt Medlock for model number 13AM762F765 asked on 2019-05-30
Hello Matt, thank you for writing. This Belt is compatible to your model, but is not the upper Drive Belt. For your model you will need Belt part 954-04001A. If you have an order with our company and need to speak about that, you will have to contact our contact customer service by phone, or by email at customerservice@ereplacementparts.com. Thank you.
After replacing a damaged blade, I found that the deck vibrates like crazy and threw the belt. The outboard (left side) idler is now at an angle, (not level). Having removed the deck and the idler - I dont see why the idler does not sit level. Any suggestions? The bolt appears to be straight, the mounting bracket appears to be undamaged. I suspect that the belt retainer might not have been installed correctly. UR ideas? Thank in advance.
Charles McGarvey for model number Troy Pony 13AN77BS011 (4/2017) asked on 2019-05-27
Hello Charles, Great Question. It could be a problem with the tension on the pto. Try the following: Since the power take-off (PTO) lever on the Troy-Bilt Pony controls whether or not power generated by the engine reaches the mowing deck, it's imperative that it works properly. If you notice that the blades of the mower don't stop when you disengage the PTO, stop mowing immediately and adjust the tension of the PTO cable for your own safety. A PTO that is too slack or too taut will not control the PTO properly. Park the Troy-Bilt Pony on a level surface and set the parking brake. Remove the key from the ignition. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug by pulling the boot free of the plug. This prevents the Troy-Bilt Pony from inadvertently starting during the PTO adjustment. Move the PTO lever all the way forward to the "On" position. The PTO lever, also known as the blade engagement lever, is located next to the driver's seat on the right-hand side of the mower's fender. Raise the mower deck to its uppermost position by moving the deck lift lever. The deck lift lever is situated to the right of the PTO lever. Check the blade engagement rod to ensure that its protrusions shift away from the PTO bracket in this setting. Reposition the PTO lever to the "Off" position. Check the blade engagement rod to ensure that its protrusions make contact with the PTO bracket. If either setting is off, proceed to adjust the blade engagement rod. Place the PTO lever in the "Off" position and lower the mower deck as far as possible. Loosen the nut that holds the blade engagement rod in place. You can now shift the opposite end of the blade engagement rod slightly forward where it hooks into the adjustment slot. Hold the blade engagement rod in place and re-tighten the nut to hold the adjustment. Repeat the procedure in Step 2 to ensure that the adjustment you've made is correct. The movement of the blade engagement rod should now correspond appropriately to the position of the PTO lever. Raise the mower deck to the mowing position and reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug when finished with the adjustment. Tip Check the position and adjustment of the blade engagement rod any time that the motion of the blades do not respond to the adjustment of the PTO lever. Warning Avoid trying to reverse the machine with the blades engaged. Doing so is dangerous and should cause the blades to disengage when the Troy-Bilt Pony is working correctly. Hope this helps

Francis Lindenmuth for model number 13an77kg011 asked on 2019-08-06
Hello Francis, thank you for writing. A common cause of the belt coming off is that there may be too many grass clippings going into the deck and clogging it up. It could also be that the Pulley Bearings have become worn. They are part number 941-0600 for your model. Please see the related parts below. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

I had to use a impact gun to get pulley off transmission no way to hold pulley, everything else pretty basic. Would not attempt if your not mechanically inclined. Put lawn tractor on stands and just look at drive system real good or take pictures before you start .

lawn mower wouldn't propel itself normally and would stop on the slightest incline.
I watched youtube videos to research the cause. I concluded that the drive belts were worn and stretched. So I called Troybilt to verify my belt numbers. I ordered the belts and received them fairly quick. I watched the eReplacement video on youtube on the procedure to replace the belts. I was able to complete the task though the video made it look easier than it really was. There were some tension issues to overcome with the belt on the differential. Putting the rear pulley back on the shaft was very difficult. Other than that the rest of the repair was as the video showed.
