Steering was loose and skipped teeth at times

    ANDREW - June 16, 2017
👍 7 of 8 people found this instruction helpful
Removed the gas tank for working space, then removed the dash and the shaft retainer to remove the steering wheel and shaft.
Replaced the gear and bushings and added the support plate that my early model did not have. This removed the play in the gear and allowed the steering shaft the fit tightly removing the looseness in the steering ,when it was reassembled, it was better than new.

It worked and the lawn tractor once again can be steered.
