Blades would not stop running for a long time due to spring mechanism not retracting. Air filter very dirty, and time to change the fuel filter anyway.

Reattach spring and excercise mechanism. Add small amount of grease to all moving parts except belt. Now it retracts properly and the blades stop within about 20 seconds. Easy to replace air filter. Pair of pliers releases clips on both sides of fuel filter...about one minute. Will use oil drain tube next time we change the oil.

I haven't installed the fuel filter yet. Right now there's an Autozone Duralast fuel filter on the engine. I'll use the B&S filter later on. The mower never came with a fuel filter. I adapted one to prevent stalling due to dirt getting into the carburetor.
