Product Description ?

This is a genuine Oster Pro part. This Latch is used on many models of Oster Pro hair clippers. The Latch is made of steel. The Latch locks blades into place while cutting hair. The Latch tip commonly breaks causing the blade to vibrate and to pull off when going through thick hair. Other parts that are commonly purchased with the Latch is the Hinge Assembly (part number 044941-000-000) and the Screws (041664-000-000). A Phillips head screw driver is used to replace the Latch.

I received several parts to repair my Oster Pet trimmer. The availability and the prices were very reasonable. All parts came in one plastic envelope with all parts in separate smaller labeled plastic envelopes. Highly recommend this company!

Replaced latch and hinge, now guard stays stationary while blades cut back and forth. Not sure if I needed to replace both but might as well if you have to order them and take it apart.

    Screwdriver, Loctite for screw sockets

First I found that the Latch Assembly screw sockets that hold the latch in place had pulled loose from the clippers aluminum housing. This issue caused the latch from pulling tight against the clipper housing. I wiped the surface clean and took some acetone or (you can use wife's finger nail polish remover) on Q-Tips and cleaned the hole. I took some Loctite and applied it to the hole and screw sockets and let it hardened well. Okay now, I took less than 10 minutes to install the parts purchased. The Parts worked and Clipper work great.

Note: I would check the screw sockets that hold the Latch Assembly in place (they should be flush with clipper housing). This has happened to me before so it might be happen to you.
