Product Description ?

This is a genuine Briggs and Stratton part for use with lawn and garden equipment engines. The rocker arm opens the intake and exhaust valves. The most common reason for replacing the rocker arm is if it is damaged, causing the engine to not run properly. This part is sold individually. Here is a list of tools that are needed to install the engine rocker arm a 10mm socket and socket wrench, flat-blade screwdriver, 13/16” spark plug wrench, safety razor, torque wrench, 9mm wrench, Hondabond silicone sealant and a feeler gauge.

    The engine would blow gas out the carburetor and the lock up, took off the valve cover and found the exhaust rocker arm split and intake push rod bent.

    I replaced both rocker arms and intake and exhaust push rods. Adjusted the gap. I started the engine, it fired and I let it idle for a few minutes. The engine never sputtered or skip a beat. I mowed for two hours in the 8-inch high grass the riding mower pushed thru.

    Tools Used

    Socket set, Wrench Set, Nutdriver, Feeler guage to set the correct clearance

    Remove valve cover. Remove rocker arms and rocker arm bolt stands. Remove and replace push rod guides. Reinstall rocker arm stands and rocker arms. Install push rod in correct position.(Make sure you put the Aluminum rod in the Intake position and the Steel rod in the Exhaust position) Adjust clearance as required. Reinstall valve cover and gasket. Run engine and check for oil leaks. Enjoy!!
